Social Care Service Manager job vacancy in Margate.

Our client is a national social care provider that dedicates their time towards supporting people with learning disability, autism and complex support needs to enjoy fulfilling lives in the community.

With a focus on supporting adults of all ages to develop and retain as much independence as possible throughout their lives, you’ll be joining a small team within a new service in Margate. This service will provide assisted living to a small number of adults, and you will be instrumental to the effective set up and ongoing delivery of the care and support required to make an incredible positive impact to the service user’s quality of life.

About this Service Manager (Social Care) job opportunity in Margate:

  • Empower the people that you and your team support to have active and fulfilling lives.
  • Develop and lead the support services with a person centred approach. This will include some initial set up, and transitioning the people that you will be supporting.
  • Assisting with the recruitment and development of the team of Support Workers, and moving forward by motivating, coaching and inspiring your team to provide outstanding support.
  • Team Management, including rotas, recruitment, training and development.
  • Managing budgets and monthly reports.
  • Remain flexible, participating in the on call rota.

 

Service Manager shift pattern:

  • The majority of this role will be Monday to Friday, 9-5.
  • There will be occasional shift work in order to observe practices and ensure standards are being maintained across the service.

 

About you, the ideal Service Manager for this social care setting:

  • Experience supporting individuals who have learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge.
  • You should have a passion for helping others.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory, team leader or management level role.
  • A relevant qualification is desirable.
  • You should have a working knowledge of CQC and other relevant regulations.
  • A knowledge or understanding of Positive Behaviour Support would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • You should have a positive and creative approach towards problem solving, encouraging team work.
  • Strong communication skills is a must, able to communicate well with service users, all stakeholders and your team.
  • IT literate, able to manage reports and use Microsoft Office as a minimum.
