About this Support Worker job opportunity near Canterbury:

We are looking for Support Workers to work in a service near Canterbury, supporting male adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and communication needs. All three need support with moving and handling, and one uses a peg for ingestion.

You’ll be:

• Supporting our people to be engaged in all day to day living activities, including making full use of their community and beyond.
• Supporting our people with social activities, and connecting with family and friends.
• Supporting the management of our people’s finances.
• Keeping our people’s home clean and fresh, and going shopping.
• Providing, and encouraging, personal care.
• And enjoying what you do!

Support Worker shift pattern:

• Both full and part time opportunities are available.
• Full time is 5 shifts per week (39 hours)
• Part time is around 3 shifts per week (20 hours)
• Shifts run Monday to Sunday. You’ll need to be available every other weekend as a minimum, ideally more.
• Shifts are either 7am-2pm, 2pm-9pm or 10pm-6am. These can be arranged flexibly to fit around your needs to a degree, which can be discussed at interview.

About you, the ideal Support Worker for this job in Hoath, near Canterbury:

Experience in social care is not essential, we provide a full range of accredited and award winning training programmes at no cost to yourself, including the Health and Social Care Diploma that will really support your career progression.

Ideally you’ll have:

• Basic understanding of Health and Social Care regulatory bodies
• Understanding of working with people disadvantaged through illness and disability
• Knowledge of the local area to where I work
• Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, or be willing to work towards
